Hello everyone, and welcome to Blogger of the Week from Helen’s Cooking. The blogger of the Week #10 is lovely Elyse Kelley from The Cultural Dish Elyse’s blog is inspired by so many cuisines from all over the world, that I was just delighted when she agreed to tell us a little bit about her blogging passion in this interview and share her special Lemon Corners Recipe!
Why do you blog and what do you blog about? (What distinguishes you from the other bloggers?)
I began blogging because I love to cook and I love to travel. Therefore, my blog combines those two passions. I always try to make dishes from around the world that people enjoy – whether it is Italian food, French food, or even British food – I try to make it all! Not only do I recreate these dishes in my kitchen, but also I try to keep them as authentic and true to their original cuisine as possible. My goal is to also show others that it can be quite easy to recreate some amazing dishes in your own kitchen! In addition to this, I often blog about my own family recipes that came over with my Nonna from Italy.
What is your secret ingredient, the one that you cannot live without and the one that makes your cooking so special?
Homemade. That may not be an ingredient in the literal sense, but I make everything from scratch! Including my own pasta dough!
What is your favorite kitchen tool?
I have a lot of kitchen tools that I LOVE, including my pasta roller and kitchen aid mixer, but I have to say that my food processor is probably my favorite. It just makes life so easy in the kitchen!
What is your signature recipe?
This is a tough one! But since my biggest critics are my husband and Nonna, I will have to say the most requested recipe from them would be my scones and raspberry ribbons. Of course, my Nonna may not admit it, but I think my Shrimp fra Diavolo may give hers a run for its money!
Why you present this recipe today?
I chose to present my Lemon Square recipe today because I love to cook and bake with lemons! Plus, with spring right around the corner, I have just always associated lemons with warmer days and spring and summer foods to come! Please find the recipe here
